How to apply: After ordering and
provisioning of your EC-1, EC-2, EC-3 or Win2kEC

easy access to a Merchant Account Application. (Note: The
MPC module is a optional add-on for EC-1 and EC-2.) In all
cases, you must request the addition of this module via Technical
Support to be able to use the MPC module. Once you have made the
request to add the MPC, you will also need to send a reply response
acknowledging the additional fees associated with the MPC add-on
feature, if you are requesting it be added to the EC-1 and EC-2 plan
types.

Store
Sign-up:
Place your order for a EC-3 account inside
your Master Dealer Control Panel. We will install the
Mercantec store and the Clear Commerce Module (also sometimes
referred to as the Merchant Payment Center, MPC, Bank One module or
Paymentech module).
Once
you have placed your order for your e-commerce plan type, you will
receive an automated activation notice. Inside the emailed
instructions you will find the information that you need to
log into the store manager and go to the 'Payment Systems' section.
This information will lead you to the Merchant Account Application.
If the Clear Commerce Module is installed, there will be a button
listed, to apply.
Once
you access this site, you will need to follow the step-by-step
instructions on setting up your store: http://www.mercantec.com/products/download/sc50.htm
Merchant
Account Application:
The merchant fills out the application and
submits it to Bank One*. Note: You CAN NOT fill out the
application for the client, questions asked are client specific and
this is a requirement by Bank One.
After submission, Bank One* reviews the
application. In most cases, the decision is made within 24 hours of
submission. If additional review of the application is deemed
necessary, the merchant will be notified of a decision within 1 to 3
business days with the approval or denial of the application.
If Bank One* approves the application, the merchant will receive an
e-mail confirming approval along with the merchant number. In a
separate message, the Merchant Star Response Center will provide the
Moneta PIN # and enrollment information.
Merchant will receive a third e-mail from Clear Commerce (ClearLink
API) welcoming them.
If the merchant receives an email notifying them that their account
has been approved & giving them a 12 digit merchant number, but
receives no further emails, they should forward that email to us [support@rapidsite.net]
and we will escalate the case to Mercantec.
INTERNATIONAL
Credit Card Processing: Clear Commerce can accept
International Credit Cards and the SoftCart can be reconfigured to
process properly. Process: The PreAuth is done in the Merchant's
currency & the PostAuth is done in the currency of the
cardholder. Clear Commerce DOES NOT support foreign countries,
ONLY US MERCHANTS SELLING TO FOREIGN MARKETS. NOTE: Merchant
ID's will be required for each currency.
Any
merchant interested in credit card sales from a foreign country,
will need to research an alternative for their country. In most
cases, the bank would need to be supported by a US financial
institution to facilitate processing. Please check with your
country's policies on credit card processing, to be sure.

IMPORTANT UPDATE:
The MPC (Merchant Payment Center) Payment Gateway is now free
from being ”fixed” to Bank One as an E-commerce component. It
now bolts onto “other”
Merchant
accounts as well as Bank One. This gives our Dealers and your
customers more options
when choosing a Merchant Account Provider.
Benefits:
Automated
Gateway Configuration
- Merchants
with an existing MID will be able to enter their MID and
Processor information and have the gateway and SoftCart store
automatically configured.
- Merchants
will receive 2 emails notifying them that their SoftCart store
is configured and ready to process online credit card
transactions.
Rejected
Merchant Support
- Merchants
who have been rejected by Paymentech will now be able to use MPC.
- After
being rejected by Paymentech, the merchant can acquire a MID
from another bank (see partial list in the MRL)
and then they can re-visit MPC to configure the gateway and
online store.
Support
for Major processors
- The
upgraded MPC expands SoftCart’s ability to serve virtually any
merchant looking to do business online and supports the major
MID providers (like CardServices International) and processors.
Refer to the MRL
for details on the list of supporting providers.
Some of these providers can be found
in the MRL-Merchant
Service Resource Library. To find the MRL,
please go into the Dealer kit, click on category; Plans and prices,
Link; MRL-Merchant
Resource Library. The providers will be listed underneath the
MPC's heading.

questions about any of these available options, please contact: [support@rapidsite.net].
Questions regarding authorization processes will also
need to be directed to Technical Support in ALL cases.
